While I'm thinking about it ...

--In case you missed it, Jenna Smith is one of 30 preseason candidates for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, a significant honor in women's basketball that goes to a senior who has achievements in "classroom, character, community and competition." The field will be pared to 10 midway through the regular season and those 10 will go on the ballot. According to a release, voters will be media, coaches and fans.

--"Under the Shell," the behind-the-scenes program that follows Maryland women's basketball, has started its new season. I haven't watched the first episode yet, but here's the link if you want to check out what Lori Bjork is up to these days. Bjork, by the way, started and played 19 minutes in the Terrapins' exhibition win against Bowie State on Wednesday. She shot 4 of 11 (2 of 5 on threes) for 10 points, with three assists and one turnover.

--The feature film about Immaculata College's powerhouse women's basketball team, starring Theresa Grentz, apparently will get a March release, according to this Philadelphia report. Grentz and other players who were members of the Mighty Macs filmed cameos for the flick. (This report also says Grentz has signed on as an analyst for the Big Ten Network. That isn't news. Grentz has been working a handful of BTN games each season since she left Illinois.)

--Sad news out of Charleston. Eastern Illinois assistant coach Jacqueline Moore, 28, collapsed and died Wednesday after working out. Thoughts and prayers are with the Moore family and the Panthers.

--Reminder: Illinois plays its only exhibition game at 11:30 a.m. Sunday against Lewis University at the Assembly Hall.
