Special honor for Jenna Smith

Jenna Smith on Sunday earned a rare distinction -- and she didn't even play a game.

Smith was named to the Big Ten's all-tournament team for the second consecutive season. Most impressive, however, is that she is just the second player in the 15-year history of the event to receive that honor despite being eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Smith had 24 points, six rebounds and four blocks in a first-round victory against Penn State, then had 23 points and eight rebounds in a loss to No. 12 Ohio State, which defeated Purdue 67-66 Sunday in the title game.

Minnesota's Janel McCarville (2004) is the only other player to be named to the all-tournament team whose squad did not reach the semifinals.
