DeBruler honored

Illini All-American Laura DeBruler was selected Tuesday to USA Volleyball's Women's Open Division All-Tournament Team.

The outside hitter played for the USA A2 Red team that won the bronze medal at the U.S. Open National Championships in Phoenix. The USA A2 Blue team won the tournament, which began on May 29.

DeBruler, a senior-to-be, was joined on the six-member all-tournament team by three other current college players, all from the A2 Blue team: MVP Juliann Faucette (Texas); Carli Lloyd (California); and Tarrah Murrey (California).

Also earning all-tournament honors were two members of the silver-medal Exterminators team: former college players Heather Kisner (Texas) and Sonja Newcombe (Oregon).
