With time running out on the Illini, I'm typing this blog. Time meaning not only this game, but for a bowl.
Illinois did show early signs of a good running attack against the Bucks, but weird things, like the occasional McGee sub-in kept them out of things.
The first Hardeman late-hit penalty was NOT a late hit, but it did look like a helmet-to-helmet. The next late hit call was a good one.
Why punt against the wind on a free kick after a safely? Makes no sense at all in those conditions.
Offfensive line opened some holes for runners, but failed again to block effectively for Juice in the passing game.
The last team to finish with a losing record the year after a Rose Bowl appearance was Michigan in the mid-sixties (from ESPN). Illinois is in extreme danger of doing that.
