Weekend Wrap - Tracy Abrams puts up 27

Every Monday during the prep basketball season, IlliniHQ.com will give a wrap-up of how Illini commits and targets fared during the previous weekend's games. Here are a few highlights from last weekend.

THE COMMITS

  • JEREME RICHMOND scored 18 points to lead Waukegan to a 70-63 win over New Trier on Friday. The UI commit picked up her fourth foul with three minutes left in the third quarter and sat for an important stretch of the game in which his teammates extended the lead to 53-48. Waukegan is 17-4 on the season.
  • Future Illini point guard TRACY ABRAMS had a game-high 27 points to lead Mount Carmel (20-2) to a 74-55 win over Seton on Friday. Abrams, a 6-foot-1 junior, converted two steals into layups during a 13-1 Mount Carmel run in the third quarter. After nursing an ankle injury for most of the season, Abrams seems to be feeling better. He's notched two 20-plus point games in a row.
  • Despite having his minutes limited by foul trouble, 7-foot UI commit MEYERS LEONARD had 19 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks to lead Robinson to a 75-62 win over Mt. Zion on Saturday. Robinson went 6 of 10 from the field and 7 of 7 from the free-throw line.

TARGETS - How some of the Illinois recruiting targets played last weekend

  • CHASSON RANDLE had 11 points to help lead Rock Island to a 56-42 road win over Galesburg on Friday. Randle, a consensus top-60 recruit, has offers from more than a dozen schools, including Illinois. Read more about Randle here.
  • De La Salle junior MIKE SHAW had 11 points to lead the Meteors (12-6) to a 54-51 win over Fenwick on Friday. Shaw, a 6-foot-8 junior, has offers from more than 20 colleges, including Illinois. Shaw was in attendance for the Illini's upset of No. 5 Michigan State on Saturday. Read more about Shaw here.
  • ABDUL NADER had 26 points to lead Niles North to a 62-60 win over Maine West on Friday. Nader, a 6-foot-6 junior wing, in attendance for the Illini's upset of No. 5 Michigan State on Saturday. He has scholarship offers from Bradley and Baylor.
  • Simeon freshman JABARI PARKER was held out of the starting lineup due to illness but still had six points off the bench in a 51-33 rout of West Aurora. Parker, a 6-foot-5 Class of 2013 prospect, has scholarship offers from Illinois, DePaul, Kansas, Northwestern and Oregon State.
  • JOSH LANGFORD had a game-high 18 points to lead Lee-Huntsville (Ga.) to a 82-56 win over J.O. Johnson on Friday. The Illini are one of about 10 schools in the running for the 6-foot-6 senior. Little cousin DEVIN LANGFORD, a 6-foot-5 junior, had two points and 10 rebounds. Devin has interest from Illinois, as well.
  • Peoria Notre Dame junior MAX BIELFELDT had 21 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Irish to a 65-62 win over Peoria Central on Friday. Bielfeldt has interest from several Division I teams, including Illinois, Iowa, Xavier, Northern Iowa, Bradley, Wichita State, Western Michigan, Ball State, Missouri State and Western Illinois, among others.
  • Bloomington Central Catholic junior HAYDEN HOERDEMANN had 17 points but the Saints fell to Minonk Fieldcrest 94-79 on Saturday. Hoerdemann, a 6-foot-3 guard, is averaging 18.6 points per game so far this season. He has scholarship offers from Eastern Illinois and Illinois State and has interest from Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, Wisconsin and several Missouri Valley Conference teams.
