Illinois recruits COREY COOPER and KYLE PRATER took visits to Notre Dame on Saturday to see the Irish take on USC. Cooper, who has been committed to Illinois for more than a year, told Scout.com that he is still committed to Illinois but that has not made his "final decision."
Prater, who committed to USC in September, told Scout.com he was impressed by the Trojans and Irish. But he would not comment on his commitment status with USC. He plans on visiting Illinois on Oct. 31 before taking a trip to Oklahoma on Nov. 28 before making a final decision.s
DeKalb senior JORDAN THRELOFF, a 6-foot-10 center, committed to Illinois State this weekend, according to ChicagoHoops.com. Threloff had an impressive summer with the Illinois Stars after earning the Western Sun Conference Player of the Year award during his junior season. Threloff is the first Class of 2010 prospect to commit to the Redbirds. He chose ISU over offers from Bradley, DePaul, Drake, Indiana State and Southern Illinois, among others.
Loyola Academy defensive end CHANCE CARTER committed to Northwestern on Sunday. The three-star recruit chose the Wildcats over scholarship offers from Nebraska and Indiana. Carter, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound senior, recently accepted an invitation to play in the US Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio in January. Carter is ranked the 14th best player in the state and the 45th best defensive end in the country by Rivals.com. Illinois seemed on the outside looking in during Carter's entire recruitment.
