They continue to arrive day after day. Without much fanfare. Except at the end of practice.
Players? Coaches? Officials? Nah.
Parents.
There has been a steady stream of them coming to Illinois football practice. Nate Creer, Nathan Scheelhaase's dad, gets the perfect attendance award. Hubie Graham, the father of the Illinois tight end by the same name, has also made frequent visits.
The longest drive award? Easy. That goes to Scott Charest. Jacob's father made the long haul from their North Carolina home on Thursday. He's staying through the weekend.
The Illinois parents are a pleasant group. They don't yell mean stuff across the field at their kids. They are there to support. Period.
