Challenge accepted

I just received an email from Sam Beshers, who promises he can beat me in picking the NIT bracket. He's probably right.

But I've happily accepted the challenge despite the knowledge that I will lose.

I'm going to award one point for each correct pick in the first round, two for the second, etc. I'll post our scores after each round and let you know how far ahead Sam is.

I've got Arizona State winning it all. Sam hasn't given me his picks yet, but I've got a feeling he might be going with Illinois. In his NCAA bracket, he's got Northern Iowa beating Kansas in the second round. Good luck with that.

You shouldn't care who I am -- just a guy who couldn't find an NIT pool.

And after the first day's play, I'm ahead 5-2. But Bob's overall winner is OUT!

Let's hope his overall NCAA winner suffers the same fate...
