29 days to Camp Rantoul

No. 29: Clemson

Why I like the Tigers: Have you ever met someone named Dabo who wasn't successful? A better question, have you ever met someone named Dabo? Going into his first full season, Dabo Swinney has a talented running back (C.J. Spiller). That's a good start. So is the return of five starting offensive linemen and eight starters on defense. After the midseason departure of Tommy Bowden, Swinney kept the team together well enough to play in a New Year's Day bowl.

Why I don't: Clemson lost the bowl, cutting into the positive feelings about the Swinney regime. The schedule is difficult, with a game the second week at Georgia Tech coming just five days after the opener against Middle Tennessee. The next two games will also be tests with the Tigers hosting Boston College and TCU. There is uncertainty at quarterback, where Kyle Parker and Willy Korn are competing to take over for Cullen Harper.
