60 days to Camp Rantoul
No. 30: Corey Lewis, offensive tackle.
Why he's important: One of three players vying for two starting spots at tackle. He was in a spring battle with Jeff Allen and Ryan Palmer. All three players have starting experience, though Lewis has the least. He played in four games as a true freshman, working against Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin and Western Michigan. If he wins the left tackle job, he will be asked to protect the blind side for Juice Williams, a critical position on the offense.
Getting personal: His decision to pick Illinois over Penn State and Virginia was considered a major coup for the Illini. Of the three competing offensive tackles, he had the best reputation as a recruit, earning three stars from Rivals.com. Talented athlete was a basketball starter in high school. Cresco, Pa., product is one of three Pennsylvanians on the Illinois roster, joining tight end Hubie Graham and offensive lineman Tyler Sands.
