Illinois-Missouri Coming up

Illinois is 10-1, Missouri is 9-1.  Illinois' only loss?  A squeaker against Clemson.  Missouri's only loss?  A squeaker against Xavier.  Both teams have a lot in common with the way the season has gone so far, but on Tuesday, both teams will have a chance to add a nice win to their resume.

Illinois looked good in that second half against Detroit.  I think that first half, even though they had a decent lead, was a bit shaky.  I bet it's pretty tough to come out and play after having 10 days off, so I wasn't to upset.  I was glad to see them come out in that second half and take it to 'em.  Illinois has done a great job of protecting the home court this season, which is nice to see after a rough year at home last year.

As for Tuesday's game, I want to see one thing.  I want to see Trent Meacham step up.  Over the last year plus, he has shown me that he can put up numbers against the lesser teams like Detroit, but when Illinois comes up against a solid team he seems to disappear.  Meacham is capable of getting it done, but he needs to do it in a big game.  Here is his chance.  I don't know what his playing time is going to be like because of Alex Legion.  Heck, I don't know what anyones playing time is going to be like because of Alex Legion, but Illinois needs Meacham to deliver.

Speaking of Legion, it looks like he can shoot it.  The one thing I'm worried about, and it is the same with McCamey, is the flat shot.  His three's, even though he made a couple, were very very flat.  I feel this is what's keeping McCamey from being a great three point shooter, and I hope it doesn't effect Legion's consistancy.

I'm being too negative for a 10-1 team, so I will shut up.  Illinois is off to an awesome start, and it is time to make it a little better on Tuesday.  Beat Mizzou!!

I-L-L...
