A Few Facts on Stony Brook
Just thought you might like a few quck facts about the Illini opponent in the NIT:
They won the regular season America East conference title
They lost in the tournament semi-finals to Boston University
Vermont is the in the NCAA tournament from the America East ....they won the tourney title
Their nickname is the Seawolves
Their gym is named Pritchard Gymnasium...I am told it is smaller than Huff Hall
They won 10 straight games before losing in the tourney semis
They beat Lehigh...which is in the NCAA Tourney
They beat NCAA team Vermont twice during the regular season
They set a school record with 22 wins this season
The school was founded in 1957....and has an enrollment of nearly 23,000 students....making it the biggest school in the America East Conference.
The school is located in the New York City area....on Long Island.....roughly an hour from Manhattan......
They became a Dvision I basketball school about 10 years ago.
