AP All-American teams... and our ballot
Here's a look at the AP All-America teams. The same voters that handle the weekly AP Top 25 voting put their ballots together for these guys. Here's how I voted:
First team
Blake Griffin, Oklahoma
James Harden, Arizona State
Stephen Curry, Davidson
DeJuan Blair, Pittsburgh
Terence Williams, Louisville
Second team
Hasheem Thabeet, Connecticut
Jerel McNeal, Marquette
Tyler Hansbrough, North Carolina
Ty Lawson, North Carolina
Sherron Collins, Kansas
Third team
Toney Douglas, Florida State
Luke Harangody, Notre Dame
Gerald Henderson, Duke
Tyreke Evans, Memphis
Eric Maynor, VCU
Player of the Year: Blake Griffin, Oklahoma
Coach of the Year: Bill Self, Kansas
And here are the official AP All-American teams, announced today:
First team
Blake Griffin
Tyler Hansbrough
DeJuan Blair
James Harden
Stephen Curry
Second team
Hasheem Thabeet
Ty Lawson
Luke Harangody
Jodie Meeks
Jerel McNeal
Third team

Toney Douglas
Gerald Henderson
Sam Young
Sherron Collins
POY: Griffin
COY: Self
- It should be noted the All-America ballots are due before the NCAA tournament. And something I just noticed.... In our final AP ballot, submitted before the NCAA tournament, 14 of the top 16 teams advanced to the Sweet 16. The only two that did not were Florida State and Washington. Of the top 16 teams in the AP poll, 13 of the top 16 teams were playing into the second weekend (Wake Forest, Washington, Florida State). The favorites ruled, for sure.
